Texas Rangers Set Date For Adrian Beltre's Jersey Retirement

February 05, 2019 - 4:52 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Texas Rangers have announced the date for when Adrian Beltre's No. 29 uniform will officially be retired.

Beltre will be honored on Saturday, June. 8 against the Oakland A's, the club announced on Tuesday.

The ceremony will begin at 7:35 p.m. and first pitch is set for 8:05 p.m.

The Rangers previously announced the decision to retire Beltre's jersey at the club's winter banquet two weeks ago, but they hadn't set a date.

Beltre retired in November after a 21-year career in the major leagues, and after spending the last eight years with the Rangers.

He will join Nolan Ryan, Johnny Oates, Ivan Rodriguez and Jackie Robinson as the only Rangers who have had their numbers retired.
