GRAND PRAIRIE (105.3 THE FAN) - The Texas Airhogs baseball team just announced a new in-roads in the biggest market on Earth: China.

The Airhogs are teaming up with the Chinese Baseball Association for the 2018 season.

The Chinese National team sent 30 players to Grand Prairie to train here. Those players will actually play on the Airhogs roster this season. The Chinese team members will switch out on the roster during the season.

This is the first partnership of this kind between an American baseball team and the National team from China.

There's also a connection between the two teams. The Airhogs manager John McLaren managed the Chinese National Team during the World Baseball Classic in 2013 and 2017.

“This is a partnership we really value a lot with the CBA and Shougang Sports,” said new AirHogs skipper John McLaren in a release fvrom the team. “We are very thankful for getting the opportunity to do this."
