BALTIMORE (105.3 The Fan) - Former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III is returning to the NFL after he agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens.

According to a statement released by the Ravens on Twitter Wednesday, Griffin and the team agreed to a one-year deal.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome addressed the signing at a pre-draft press conference a short time later.

"Late yesterday, we agreed to a deal with Robert Griffin. He came in last week, worked out, had a really good work out, and we were able to come to an agreement," Newsome said. "He'll probably be here early next week to sign the deal."

Griffin's career in the NFL has been marred by several knee injuries. He spent last season out of the league despite an offer from the Ravens.

The former Heisman Trophy winner last played in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns in 2016.
