February 06, 2019 - 2:23 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - According to Pro Football Talk, the Dallas XFL team is expected to name former University of Oklahoma head coach, Bob Stoops, as it's coach and general manager Thursday.

Stoops was the head coach at Oklahoma for 18 years before stepping away for successor Lincoln Riley. At his time in Oklahoma, Stoops was 190-48 with 10 Big 12 Championships and 1 National Title. He was also a 2-time recipient of the Walter Camp Coach of the Year award and won AP Coach of the year once.

The timing of the announcement comes just days before rival league AAF kicks off its 2019 schedule at Spectrum Stadium on Florida on February 9th.

Greg Schiano had also been linked to the XFL, however, he has just been hired as the Patriots' Defensive Coordinator.

The GBAG Nation chatted with the CEO and commissioner of the XFL, Oliver Luck, on radio row last week.
