DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Per a report from 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher, Tavon Austin is out and Cedrick Wilson has been promoted to the 53-man roster for the Cowboys trip to Fed Ex Field this Sunday.

Austin is a dynamic playmaker on the Cowboys offense that exploded for 494 yards and 35 points last Sunday, and as a result of the speedster entering concussion protocol this past week, the Cowboys are being forced to make multiple roster moves.

In order to call up Wilson from the practice squad, the Cowboys have released undrafted free agent rookie linebacker Chris Covington, who, per Fisher, Dallas is likely to invite back to the practice squad should he clears waivers.

Wilson is likely to see most of his time on the field on special teams this Sunday, where he has excelled in the past.

Austin's absence will also cause the Cowboys to make a change at punt returner this week, with the likely candidate being wideout Randall Cobb.

Cobb is no stranger to the return game, having returned 89 punts for 832 yards and two touchdowns in his career. The touchdowns both came in Cobbs first two years in the league when the Packers used him as their primary returner on both kicks and punts.

Along with Austin, Fisher believes the other inactive players for the NFC East matchup are likely to include defensive linemen Taco Charlton and Tysten Hill, linebacker Luke Gifford, offensive linemen Brandon Knight and Adam Redmond, and rookie safety Donovan Wilson.

The Cowboys and the Redskins kick off their first meeting of the season at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday.
