DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers have recalled Willie Calhoun and have sent Elvis Andrus to the 10-day IL with a strained hamstring.

According to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, Calhoun is in tonight's lineup as the designated hitter and will hit second.

Calhoun is having a very productive season with Triple-A Nashville. He is hitting .304 with 8 home runs and 22 RBI in 115 at-bats, and joins the Rangers after getting hits in 15 straight games.

Andrus was injured running to first base in last night's loss to the Kansas City Royals. Texas has lost five straight games to fall a season-worst five games below .500.

Texas also sent Wei-Chieh Huang back to Nashville and recalled Jeffrey Springs.
