It happened again.

The Chicago Bears kicking woes took yet another turn for the worse on Sunday when Eddy Pineiro missed a game-winning field goal as time expired in a 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers at Soldier Field.

Pineiro was brought in this season to replace Cody Parkey, whom the Bears released after his struggles culminated in his “double-doink” game-winning miss in the NFC Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles last year to end the Bears’ season.

Pineiro, 24, entered the game with just one missed field goal all season but Week 8 against the Chargers was a different story.

At the end of the first quarter, Pineiro brought back some bad memories of Parkey when he doinked his first attempt —a 33 yarder — off the right goalpost. He nailed his next three kicks and was set up for redemption to win the game with a 41-yard field goal attempt at the end of the fourth quarter.

Instead, Pineiro’s kick sailed wide left and the Chicago Bears were dealt a loss at the foot of their kicker once again.
