DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Could this be the week where the Cowboys finally make a splash in free agency?

Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver, Allen Hurns, is visiting the Cowboys at The Star in Frisco Wednesday.

Hurns, who was released by Jacksonville on Tuesday, is a much bigger prize on the free agent market than Justin Hunter and Dontrelle Inman, whom the Cowboys brought in for visits this week.

The wideout had 2,669 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in four seasons with Jacksonville. He signed to a $40 million extension in 2016 after a 1,000-yard season, but he was limited to just 11 games over the past two seasons.

The 26-year-old can play anywhere on the field. He has experience in the slot, Z and X-spots out wide.

The biggest question that comes with Jacksonville's former No. 88's visit to The Star is what does it mean for the Cowboys current No. 88?

According to Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan, Hurns would be a great fit alongside Dez Bryant, although, someone inside the Cowboys building won't stop trying to run him out of town.

"I strongly believe that Allen Hurns doesn't come to your football team to supplant Dez. And yet, somebody in that building just won't let go of the idea. I don't know who the somebody is. I just know that somebody is a moron," Fish said on Shan and RJ this morning.

Fish further speculates that whispers will continue to funnel out from sources inside The Star that Hurns is a No. 1 receiver, which he and many others don't believe is true.

As far as Terrence Williams is concerned, there's no financial advantage to cutting him, but Fish says the two will compete for the second receiver spot if Hurns does indeed sign with the Cowboys.

Stay tuned.
