ARLINGTON (105.3 The Fan) - The countdown officially began last night at Globe Life Park.

The Texas Rangers have 99 more home games to play before they'll move to their brand new retractable roof park across the street.

Globe Life Field is still under construction and is expected to be ready for Opening Day in 2020.

Some of the unknows with the new park has sparked an interest among fans. All anyone seems to care about with the stadium is whether or not it will have a turf or a grass playing surface.

Rangers general manager told The Ben and Skin Show last week that no decision had been made yet, but appeared to give the impression that they'd be okay with turf.

In his most recent appearance with Ben and Skin on Monday, Daniels was asked about the dimensions of Globe Life Field, and if those had been finalized yet?

"There's set plans right now that have set dimensions as far as the outfield wall. The foul ground distance from home plate to the premium seats right behind there, the distance to the dugouts ... those things are fairly set, I don't think they're going to change at all.

"I guess in theory, the outfield wall could change, slightly, although I don't expect that it will. I'm not sure when we're releasing all those details, but generally speaking, it's going to be similar to our current park where right field is a little bit closer ... a little bit shorter porch than left field. But the dimensions are not exactly the same."

Daniels also talked about Cole Hamels performance since being traded to the Cubs and much more.
