Terrell Owens: "It's Mind-Boggling" That Garrett Is Sill The Cowboys Head Coach

May 17, 2018 - 2:51 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens says Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett should be out of a job by now.

Owens, who played two seasons under Garrett when he was the offensive coordinator with the Cowboys, doesn't understand how he's still the head coach despite having no success in the playoffs.

“I have no idea. You know what’s really tough? When you really look at it, it doesn’t make sense for Jason Garrett to continue to have his job. (The organization is) not really expanding or progressing even as a team under his coaching tenure there,” Owens told the K&C Masterpiece on 105.3 The Fan. “It all boils down to the players being the scapegoat for his inability to lead the team as he should. For me, it's mind-boggling. I think Jerry (Jones) ... again he’s the owner at the end of the day, he has to feel good with himself about the decisions, but I just don’t understand why this guy (Garrett) still has a job.”

Owens also says he still has an admiration for Jones despite his bitter feelings over the timing of his release. Owens says his release was handled poorly, as was Dez Bryant's.
