DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Disgruntled pass rusher Taco Charlton tweeted "free me" in response to Cowboys COO Stephen Jones comments today on the Ben and Skin Show on 105.3 The Fan. Charlton later deleted the tweet, but not before we captured it.

He followed that up with another tweet, explaining that "the last thing" he wanted to do was go to social media to get back on the active roster.

Charlton was inactive the first two weeks of the season, prompting the guys to ask Jones what he needs to do to get on the field:

"Some of it is position flexibility when you're talking about the backup roles. Certainly, that's where Taco is," Jones said. "Our feeling has been that Joe Jackson can play both sides. We've been having Taco more one-sided. So it's just a matter of finding the right place and time to get that going again.

"Certainly, he had a great preseason. (And) I feel like, given an opportunity, he can help us ... if it fits. So we're going to continue to work on that and see what makes sense."

This isn't the first time Charlton has gone to Twitter to express his displeasure with his current situation.

The former first-round pick out of Michigan tweeted an 'hourglass' emoji last week, seemingly a sign that he's waiting for a resolution on his situation with the Cowboys. He also scrubbed his account of any link to the team.

During training camp, 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher wrote that the trade-minded Cowboys were at the brink with Charlton. And, last Friday, we proposed a Charlton for Minkah Fitzpatrick type swap with the Miami Dolphins.
