DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys COO Stephen Jones defended his father against the notion that the elder Jones only cares about revenue as opposed to on-field success.

"That's almost laughable if you know Jerry Jones," Stephen Jones said Thursday on his weekly radio show with Ben and Skin on 105.3 The Fan. "There's nothing that burns hotter in his belly than wanting to win a championship. He'd give up the Hall of Fame in a second to have another Lombardi Trophy."

Stephen Jones was asked the question after wide receviver Cole Beasley liked a post on instagram that questioned Jerry Jones' intentions.

Beasley later responded to the post caught by Bobby Belt of SB Nation, saying he liked it by accident.

The 29-year-old SMU alum is a free agent and could be one of the odd-men out when the Cowboys attempt to negotiate contracts with their available players.

Dallas has several players that are able to sign extensions, including, quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott, pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence and receiver Amari Cooper.
