FRISCO (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday that they have yet to speak with wide receiver Dez Bryant regarding his contract.

"No, we haven't. And when we (do), we'll let you know, and the guy who will do that will be Jerry," Stephen Jones told the Ben and Skin Show on 105.3 The Fan. "You're talking to the wrong guy," Jones added while chuckling.

When asked by Ben Rogers if the Cowboys were to select a receiver when they make their first-round selection, would that immediately impact their discussion with Dez Bryant?

"No. That's a separate category. In terms of Dez, we need good football players, and like we said, we wanted to really heat up the competition at that spot."

Bryant has a $12.5 million base salary and a $16.5 million cap number for 2018.

The Cowboys have already signed free-agent wide receivers Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson this offseason. According to 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher, they'll bring in Alabama's Calvin Ridley and SMU's Courtland Sutton among other receivers for visits at The Star in Frisco.
