DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Following a third straight loss, Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones doesn't feel that his head coach is on the coaching change 'hot seat.'

On his weekly show with The Fan's Ben & Skin show, Jones was down about the loss to the New York Jets, but was not ready to make a big change with coach Jason Garrett.

When asked if Jason Garrett was in danger of getting fired, Jones said, “Absolutely not. This team just needs to get a win under its belt. I still think we can have a great year. I feel good about it. Feel great about Jason and his staff.”

"Everyone needs to look in the mirror, everyone from staff, to coaches and players" said Jones about the team taking it's third straight loss.

When asked if the issues comes from not being prepared, having key starters out, or just not being motivated by Garrett, Jones said it was because of missing big plays.

"We're just not executing and not playing well enough. We're having to settle for field goals instead of getting into the Red Zone and scoring" said Jones. "We're not hitting the big plays when we are given the opportunities."

On missing those starters, along with other injuries including Amari Cooper who sat out most of the game Sunday due to an injury in the first quarter, Jones believes most of them will be back soon.

Jones said he believes if Amari Cooper, Randall Cobb, Tyron Smith and La’el Collins aren’t back this week for game against the NFC East rival Eagles, they should return after the bye week.
