Spieth Fires 2nd-Round 66 At PGA Championship

August 10, 2018 - 2:50 pm

ST LOUIS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas native Jordan Spieth will have some momentum heading into the weekend at the PGA Championship in St. Louis, Mo.

Spieth fired a 4-under-par 66 in Friday's second round, leaving him at 3-under for the championship. The 25-year-old Texan carded four birdies and no bogeys in bouncing back from his opening-round 71.

With titles at the Masters, U.S. Open and British Open under his belt, Spieth needs only the PGA to complete the Career Grand Slam. Only five players have accomplished the feat since 1934.

Spieth will enter the weekend seven shots behind tournament leader Gary Woodland, who is at 10-under-par. Woodland's halfway total of 130 is a 36-hole record for the PGA Championship.
