DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Could the Dallas Cowboys finally have an ideal trade partner for disgruntled defensive end Taco Charlton?

Several writers, notably Mike Clay of ESPN, say that a Cowboys and Miami Dolphins Minkah Fitzpatrick-Taco Charlton type swap makes sense.

The Cowboys are loaded on the defensive line, which led to Charlton being inactive in Week 1, and Fitzpatrick reportedly received permission to seek a trade after the Dolphins 59-10 blowout loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens last week.

Dallas likes what they have in Xavier Woods, Donovan Wilson and Jeff Heath, but Fitzpatrick would no doubt be an upgrade to the Cowboys secondary.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the 2018 first-round pick is in attendance at Miami's practice Friday, despite the trade rumors.

Miami is reportedly looking for a first-round pick in any Fitzpatrick deal, but might they take a third, or a second-rounder, in addition to Charlton? Dallas Cowboys insider Bryan Broaddus has suggested on 105.3 The Fan that Dallas can get a fifth-round pick for Charlton, so the Cowboys would have some work to do there to land the safety.

One thing that we know, for sure, is that Charlton isn't being shy about his desire to leave Dallas.

The former first-round pick out of Michigan tweeted an 'hourglass' emoji on Thursday, seemingly a sign that he's waiting for a resolution on his situation with the Cowboys. He also scrubbed his account of any link to the team.

During training camp, 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher wrote that the trade-minded Cowboys were at the brink with Charlton
