Scott Linehan: We Haven't Been Good Enough Offensively

November 08, 2018 - 4:46 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Scott Linehan is still the Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator despite fans and media members clamoring for his ouster.

Linehan has taken the brunt of the blame for the Cowboys offensive woes this season and publicly acknowledged his role in it after practice Thursday.

“Everything we’re about is ownership and accountability this week,” Linehan said Thursday, via Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News. “I fully own that we haven’t been good enough offensively. It starts with me.”

Owner Jerry Jones said Monday night that he is "not anticipating any more coaching changes," and Jason Garrett said Tuesday that Linehan is the play caller "right now."

“Jerry’s message is obviously very, very appropriate,” Linehan said. “I think everybody has to look inward and not outward. We have got to be better at our jobs. We feel like if that’s our approach as individuals, we’ll be better as a team.”

Dallas is currently ranked 27th in total offense, including 29th in passing, and 26th in points scored.
