DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Mavericks' guard Wesley Matthews has exercised his player option for the 2018-19 season, according to Shams Charania Yahoo Sports.

Matthews will make $18.6 million in the fourth and final year of the $70 million contract he signed with Dallas in 2015.

It's not a surprise that Matthews decided to opt in after he told reporters last week, "I don't plan on being anywhere else" next year.

Matthews also told reporters at Festival de Los Mavs that he was now cleared to resume basketball activities without any restrictions after he fractured his right fibula on March 10.

He averaged 12.7 points per game in his third season with Dallas.
