March 28, 2018 - 3:11 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Texas Rangers pitcher Tim Lincecum is expected to miss the first month of the season with a finger injury, according to a CBS Sports report.

Lincecum is dealing with a blister issue that is forcing the right-hander to sit out the first month of the 2018 campaign. He will start the year on the disabled list.

Evan Grant is reporting that 33-year-old righty will play catch for the first time this coming Thursday.

When healthy, The Freak is expected to be a key reliever in the bullpen.
