DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys secondary coach and passing game coordinator, Kris Richard, may be staying in Dallas for at least another season, after all.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Miami Dolphins are targeting New England Patriots defensive coordinator as their next head coach. Both Richard and Flores were seen as front-runners for the job.

Richard interviewed with the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dolphins after the Cowboys wild card win over the Seattle Seahawks last weekend, leading to speculation that he would land one of those jobs. With all three teams now having hired other coaches, it appears, for now, that Richard will remain with the Cowboys.

With Richard already calling the plays on defense, Dallas could promote him to defensive coordinator with Rod Marinelli's blessing.

"I'll do whatever the Cowboys need to be done for us to keep Kris Richard," Marinelli recently told 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher. "I only care about what’s best for the players. I don’t care about titles. Having Kris here is best for the players. That’s all I am in favor of.''

It looks like Rod and the team will get their wish.
