Allen Hurns Confirms Previous Comments About Cowboys Play Calling

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, Allen Hurns says part of the problem with the offense is Scott Linehan's play calling.

Anderson reported on ESPN Wednesday that she asked Hurns for an example of a bad play call and he pointed out a mistake he saw on Dak Prescott's second interception against the Houston Texans on Sunday.`

"It was a play to Deonte Thompson. He said that coverage on that particular play was a two-man coverage, Anderson said via Hurns. "That's typically where the corners are underneath. They called a deep curl route which he said in his estimation is the worst play call you can make against that coverage."

Hurns also reportedly said the blocking, wide receivers and Prescott deserve some of the blame.

"Sometimes Dak is making the reads and sometimes he's not. Sometimes the blocking is there and sometimes it's not," Anderson said via Hurns. "

When asked to comment on the situation after practice Wednesday, Hurns confirmed what he had said to Anderson.

"I don't know if Dak had the chance or the authority to check out of it. Like I said, that was their one snap in two-man. Everyone knows you can't run deep sixes against two-man. It was just an unfortunate situation," Hurns said about the play that led to an interception.

Hurns was then asked if he has conversations with Linehan about play calls, but he says he tells receivers coach Sanjay Lal what he's seeing on the field and Lal then goes to Linehan.
