SURPRISE (105.3 The Fan) - Shan and RJ are out in Surprise for Rangers Spring Training this week and on Thursday morning they played part two of their interview with the general manager of the Texas Rangers, Jon Daniels.

In yesterday's portion of the interview, Daniels touched on what went wrong in the offseason with Anthony Rendon, the club's plans on adding a powerful right-handed bat, and much more.

Here are some of the highlights from part two:

Have we reached a point of overkill in covering the Houston Astros scandal?

"I enjoyed it a little bit, I'm not going to lie. I think I speak for 29 teams there.

"It's a big deal. But some of the stuff you see, players getting death threats ... that's obscene. They cheated, it's wrong, and that's not the appropriate response.

"When we lost in 2011, the Cardinals didn't cheat, I don't think, I have no reason to think so. If we found out afterward that they did, I'd be pissed. It changed people's lives, it changed people's careers. To the degree that it literally affected the outcome of the World Series, or maybe them getting there, it's a big deal and I think it's been covered appropriately."

What will the directive be to your players when it comes to possible retaliation?

"We're going to be real clear. Woody (manager Chris Woodward) and I have talked. We're trying to win the game. That's not how we're looking to handle things. We're going to make sure our players understand from an organizational standpoint we are not looking for our players or condoning in any way our players going after the Astros players."

The guys also talked about MLB's possible changes, Corey Kluber and much more. Listen to the audio below.
