DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers were hoping to have two of their players voted into the All-Star game on Thursday, but they'll have to settle for one for the time being as Hunter Pence has been voted into the All-Star game as the American League's starting designated hitter.

Pence is in the midst of having a resurgence year with the Rangers. He's hitting .294 with 15 home runs and has a team-leading 48 RBI. He's expected to return from a groin injury in the next week.

Texas will have to wait to see if slugger Joey Gallo will be named as a reserve when the rest of the team is announced on Sunday. Gallo improved on his stellar season when he hit two home runs in Thursday's win over the Detroit Tigers. He now has 19 home runs on the year and upped his average to .279. He has an AL-best 1.103 OPS.

Another player the club is hoping to get on the team is Mike Minor. Minor leads the entire league with a 2.40 ERA and is a shoo-in for a spot on the American League pitching staff.
