Texas Rangers Announce Members Of Radio Broadcast Have Test Positive For COVID-19

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers have identified two members of their home radio booth at Globe Life Field that have received positive tests for the virus over the last 10 days, including Rangers radio broadcaster Matt Hicks.

The team has taken immediate safety protocols and sent all media members who have come in contact with the two individuals home following COVID-19 testing. 

No media will be allowed back into the facility until they have received negative COVID-19 test results. 

The team also announced that radio broadcaster Eric Nadel, who received a negative test result, will opt out of working the weekend games.

The Rangers also thoroughly sanitized all media areas, including the Globe Life Field broadcast level, and all broadcast booths.

105.3 The Fan's Jared Sandler will handle the play-by-play duties for the series and will be joined s by former Rangers David Murphy and Mark McLemore throughout the weekend on 105.3 The FAN and the Rangers Radio Network.

The crew plans to broadcast in separate booths at Globe Life Field, and 105.3 The Fan's Zach Wolchuk will handle the pre and post-game duties from The Fan's Dallas studio.

"The health and safety of our employees are a top priority, and the Rangers will continue to diligently enforce the pandemic protocols that are in place at Globe Life Field," the Rangers said in the statement. "These include temperature checks upon entering the building, mandatory wearing of face coverings, and regular sanitation and cleaning of the Globe Life Field facilities."
