DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Has Ezekiel Elliott lost his juice? According to an anonymous NFL offensive coach, the 24-year-old star running back is already on the decline.

In a study done by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, 50 league executives, coaches, scouts and players combined to rank Elliott as the third best running back in the NFL behind Giants' back Saquon Barkley and Panthers' do-it-all back Christian McCaffrey.

However, one coach disagreed with the others' assessment of Elliott.

"Very few breakout runs, doesn't look as strong anymore," the anonymous coach, who ranked Elliott outside the top 10, said in the article that was released Thursday. "Feels like he's about 60 to 70 percent of what he was."

Elliott responded to the report Thursday morning, tweeting, "whoever that is, is faded lol," a likely low-key shot at the media members who accused him of smoking marijuana on his twitch stream last week.

If Elliott is fading on the field, you wouldn't know it by looking at his stats from 2019. The Cowboys back rushed for 1,357 yards on 301 carries (4.5 YPC) and scored 12 touchdowns. He also had 420 yards receiving and two scores.

Since coming into the NFL, Elliott has run for over 1,000 yards in three out of his four seasons, and would have done it a fourth time had he not been suspended for several games in 2017.

Elliott will once again get the bulk of the work next season, this time under new coach Mike McCarthy. Second-year back Tony Pollard will likely mix in more than he did in his rookie season but it won't prevent Elliott from putting up numbers similar to the ones he had last season.

Elliott has since recovered from his June COVID-19 diagnosis and donated $85,000 to help feed 400,000 North Texas families on Wednesday
