DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says that he expects Randy Gregory to play in week 1 against the Carolina Panthers despite a report that Gregory could be facing more trouble from the NFL.

According to Jason La Canfora, he's "hearing there could be more trouble ahead for Randy Gregory."

Jones was asked about the report after the Cowboys blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night, and says he isn't aware of any trouble coming Gregory's way.

"We just have to go with things day by day there (with Randy)," Jones said. "We wouldn't have him out there (tonight) if we weren't planning on him (playing in week 1)."

Gregory did enough self-improvement work there over the course of his two-year drug-related suspension from the NFL to have satisfied the league, which reinstated him on July 17.

The pass rusher played in just two games in 2016. He missed all of 2017 after a year-long ban.
