DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dak Prescott contract talk stories continue to be churned out, but the reality is that the quarterback and the Cowboys haven't had any meaningful negotiations since last September.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys haven't confirmed or denied that Prescott hasn't been attending the team's virtual offseason program while he waits for an extension. We, of course, know that Prescott hasn't been involved and coach Mike McCarthy appeared to indicate as much in a conference call with the media Wednesday.

“He’s involved in a business situation and I have full confidence that he’ll be ready to go,” McCarthy said, via 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher. “There has been communication. I mean this is the way these business situations go sometimes. You respect that.”

The Cowboys have until July 15 to sign Prescott in order for him to not play under the franchise tag in 2020. But regardless if that happens or not, McCarthy believes everything will work out just fine despite Prescott missing time to get acclimated in a new offense with his teammates and coaches.
