Luka Ahead Of Durant, Davis In First All-Star Voting Returns

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - It's certainly been a sensational start to a career for Mavericks' rookie Luka Doncic, and fans all around the world have taken notice. 

In the first All-Star Game voting returns released by the NBA today, Doncic ranks second behind the Los Angeles Lakers' Lebron James (1,083,363) among Western Conference frontcourt players. Doncic (679,839) is currently ahead of ahead of Golden State Warriors' star Kevin Durant (659,968) and New Orleans Pelicans' big man Anthony Davis (605,417). 

Doncic ranks third in total voting behind James and Warriors' guard Stephen Curry.

The former No. 3 overall pick is averaging 19.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game for Dallas.

In the East, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo leads all vote-getters with 991,561 votes.

Fan voting accounts for 50 percent of the vote to determine the 10 starters for the game, scheduled for Feb. 17 in Charlotte.

The other half of the voting comes from current players at 25 percent and a panel of media members make up the other 25 percent. 

The fan vote decides the two captains, who then pick the starters regardless of the conference.
