DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Could it have been the play that turned the game around? Was there no communication? Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes it was confusion that got in the way.

“There was some confusion of communication,” said Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on his weekly show with The Fan's Shan & RJ show when asked about the fair catch call at the close of the game against the Vikings where the Cowboys lost 28-24.

"There's some confusion there in communication that needs to be crisper. A lot more crisp," said Jones. "They didn't want a lot of time taken on the return. On the other hand, you have to recognize when (the Vikings) don't have their gunners out wide."

Jones recapped the game, simply saying that the Cowboys got beat by a good team. Saying he knew the Vikings were going to "be a handfull" for the Cowboys, "We didn't get it done."

"I think that the other day, with the way they were running against us, it set up the ability to make those pass plays when that quarterback was called upon to make them. That's what you do when you establish that running game like that" said Jones.

When asked about the Cowboys run game getting shut down, and then the game falling on Dak's shoulders, Jones made a positive point about the Cowboys out of the gate that is was a good sign the way the Cowboys offense was able to pass the ball against a really good team.

"I want us to be able to get it in there...how many times have we seen Dak run it in for the score? I like the fact that we had a form of run-pass on the goal line," said Jones. "I thought that was the ticket. Let Dak sit there and option that thing to some degree."

In turning to questions of Dak, and the report by Ian Rapoport that Prescott will be given the franchise tag since a contract has still not been reached, Jones said "he (the reporter) has no idea."
