DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Joey Gallo made some history when he hit his 100th career home run during Wednesday afternoon's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Gallo's tape-measure shot went to dead center field and left PNC Park. According to the broadcast on 105.3 The Fan, the ball ended up in the Allegheny River, which is located behind the stadium. It's 49th time a home run has made it into the river since PNC Park opened in 2001.

With the home run, Gallo became the third-fastest player in MLB history to hit 100 home runs (377 games). Only Ryan Howard (325 games) and Ralph Kiner (376 games) reached the feat faster. Gallo is, however, the fastest player in American League history to reach 100 dingers.

Additionally, Gallo became the first player in MLB history to hit 100 home runs before 100 career singles,  according to Elias Sports. Gallo has 93 singles in his career.
