Jerry Jones Says Witten Will Make Decision On NFL Future In Coming Days

April 27, 2018 - 2:38 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says Jason Witten has yet to decide if he'll continue his career in the NFL.

"I've talked to Jason several times this week. I met with him just a few hours ago and we've had great discussions. I'll keep the details of those discussions private forever," Jones said at Leighton Vander Esch's introductory press conference. "He has some things to think about and discuss with his family from a professional perspective. He also told me those things are going to require a few more days of consideration ... at least through the weekend. He hasn't made any decisions that are definite at this time. We will have no announcement today as it pertains to Jason Witten's future."

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported earlier Friday that the future hall-of-fame tight end was heading to the Monday Night Football broadcast booth.

105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher and Ben Rogers later confirmed Witten was leaning towards retiring.
