Jerry Jones Is Keeping "A Very Close Eye" On The Kareem Hunt Case

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt's domestic violence incident is the talk of the NFL right now and Jerry Jones is keeping an eye on how the situation unfolds.

“Yes, keeping a very close eye, and have a very keen interest in how this plays out," Jones said about the case to Shan and RJ on 105.3 The Fan Tuesday. "It’s a challenging area of what we’re about ... everyone has zero tolerance for domestic abuse,” Jones said.

Jones, of course, has an interest in how the case unfolds seeing as his running back, Ezekiel Elliott, was suspended for six games by the NFL last season for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

Commissioner Roger Goodell made the determination that Elliott should be suspended despite the lead investigator's findings that the running back shouldn't face any punishment. Elliott challenged the suspension but ultimately lost in court. Dallas went 3-3 without him in the line-up before he returned for the final two games of the season. The Cowboys finished the season 9-7 and missed the playoffs.

Jones was also fined $2 million for the legal fees that the NFL incurred during Elliott's appeal process.
