Jerry Jones: Jon Kitna On Board, Likes 'In-House' Candidates For Cowboys OC

MOBILE, ALABAMA (105.3 The Fan) - After a couple days were filled with rumors about who the Cowboys would pick as their next offensive coordinator, owner Jerry Jones provided some clarity on the situation Tuesday.

Jones said at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, that former quarterback Jon Kitna has committed to joining the coaching staff, however, his role has yet to be determined, David Helman of reports. 

Jones also said no decisions have been made regarding the open offensive coordinator position as they are in the "throes of evaluation."

When asked about the potential of a coach being hired outside the organization to fill the OC vacancy, Jones said, "I like the guys we've got in house."

On Sunday,'s Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Cowboys would bring on Kitna as quarterback's coach and would possibly promote current QB coach Kellen Moore to offensive coordinator.
