Jason Garrett Doesn't Rule Out Injured Reserve For Tavon Austin

October 17, 2018 - 11:22 am

UPDATE: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday:

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett says receiver Tavon Austin is getting a second opinion on his injured groin and wouldn't rule out placing him on injured reserve.

Original story posted Tuesday:

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys may be without wide receiver Tavon Austin when they head to the Nation's Capital this week.

Austin left Sunday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a groin injury. He played only 18 on 73 snaps, and made only one catch for 5 yards.

“Tavon hurt his groin in the game, so it might be a little bit of time,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Monday. “We’ll take his situation day by day, but we’re not overly optimistic he’ll be available this week.”

The Cowboys have their bye following the game against Washington.

Austin has 7 catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns this season.
