Irving In Attendance At Cowboys Minicamp, Martin Too

June 12, 2018 - 11:08 am

FRISCO (105.3 THE FAN) - Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett told the media last Thursday that he was unsure if right guard Zack Martin and defensive lineman David Irving would participate in this week's mandatory three-day minicamp. Today, Garrett announced that both players were at the Star but they will not participate in team activities.

Garrett told the media that Martin's deal is really close to being done, but it's not yet official. Sources inside the organization told 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher that an agreement would be reached as early as today.

Irving didn't practice during OTAs because he was not in "football condition'' and because of what Fish termed "emotional turmoil'' stemming from apparently false domestic violence accusations made by his girlfriend, their ensuing breakup, and Irving's successful custody battle involving his young daughter.

People close to Irving, inside and outside the building, believe -- and hope -- that his issues are cleared up in time for training camp in Oxnard, which begins July 24.

Garrett says Irving will work on the side, while Martin is expected to do some individual workouts.
