DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Recent NFL Hall of Fame inductee and Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor member, Gil Brandt, believes the Cowboys can win the Super Bowl without their star running back, Ezekiel Elliott.

Brandt made the comments during a sitdown with the Ben and Skin Show on 105.3 The Fan at the Cowboys 2019 Kickoff Luncheon at AT&T Stadium.

"It's hard for me to understand how a guy ... if he really says he's a team player ... that he's not here playing right now," Brandt said when asked about Elliott's decision to holdout.

The former Cowboys executive went on to say that he's getting ready to release a prediction for the upcoming season on NFL.com.

"My prediction is that the Cowboys aren't just gonna go to to the Super Bowl this year but are going to win the Super Bowl," he said.

Ben Rogers then chimed in and asked Brandt if they can win the Lombardi Trophy without their bell-cow?

"I think they can. Number 36 (Tony Pollard) is not a bad football player. This is probably the best team I've seen them have. They're going to have a hard time cutting down because they got some really good players on this team that aren't going to make it," Brandt said. "And, I think the quarterback (Dak Prescott) is vastly underrated. I think he's a heck of a football player and a much better person. And, I think he'll go down in history in the city of Dallas as being right there with (Roger) Staubach, (Don) Meredith, and Aikman and all those guys."
