Garrett Says Dak Can Be Accurate When He's In A Good Position

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dak Prescott has struggled with his accuracy since he was thrust into the starting quarterback roll in 2016.

With the offense averaging just over 16 points per game through five games, fingers have been pointed at head coach Jason Garrett, offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and Prescott for the offense's struggles.

At his press conference Wednesday, Garrett was asked specifically about Prescott's accuracy and if he's accurate enough.

"When he’s in a really good position he can be a very accurate passer," Garrett said. "I think we've seen that throughout his career up to this point and I think that's something you have to continue to work with him on."

Garrett was then asked if a quarterback can improve on their accuracy over time and he said they could.

"I do think you can refine all of those things with footwork and really getting yourself in a good position to throw."

He added that the best quarterbacks can stay in the pocket with their eyes downfield in a hectic environment and that is also something Dak needs to get better at.

Garrett did stress that it takes time for young quarterbacks to improve in these areas.
