Earl Thomas To Seahawks: Extend Or Trade Me

July 16, 2018 - 6:14 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan/AP) - Will the Earl Thomas/Cowboys rumor mill start churning for one final time before training camp begins at the end of the month?

According to the safety's instagram account, he'd like the Seattle Seahawks to either sign him to a long-term extension or trade him elsewhere.

Always been the underdog ain’t nothing new . Extend .....if you don’t want me let’s make a trade happen I understand it’s a bizz -------- 29 LAVIBES

Thomas did not participate in any team activities over the contract dispute with Seattle.

He's entering the final year of his current deal signed before the 2014 season. He is scheduled to make $8.5 million in base salary in 2018.

Thomas caught everyone's attention when he chased down Dallas coach Jason Garrett following Seattle's win in Dallas and told the Cowboys coach, "If they kick me to the curb, come get me."

According to a source close to 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher, Dallas had "earmarked" their second-round pick in April's draft for a potential trade with the Seattle Seahawks for Thomas but it never came to be.

Thomas was the one player under contract that could have landed Seattle a bounty of draft picks, but Carroll and general manager John Schneider held on to the star safety despite the contract uncertainty.

Thomas just turned 29 and was an All-Pro between 2012-14. Thomas had his 2016 season cut short by a broken leg, but he returned last year to play in 14 games with 88 total tackles and two interceptions.
