Dallas To Honor Dirk Nowitzki With Key To The City

November 20, 2018 - 9:47 am

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dirk Nowitzki has received many awards throughout his 20-year career with the Dallas Mavericks. He'll have to make room for another one in his trophy room (if he has one) as the city of Dallas will honor him with a key to the city.

The city released a statement Tuesday to announce that Mayor Mike Rawlings will give Nowitzki a key to the city at halftime of the Dallas Mavericks game against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night at the American Airlines Center.

Nowitzki, who's in his 21st season with the Mavs, has yet to play in 2018 due to lingering soreness in his foot.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings sent out a tweet about the announcement and honor.
