Dez Bryant On Reported Injury: "This Is The Ultimate Test"

November 09, 2018 - 4:06 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dez Bryant appears to have confirmed that he was injured in practice Friday. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reports that the team fears Bryant tore his Achilles.

Bryant had to be helped off the field at practice today, Pelissero reports. The wideout just signed a one-year, $600,000 deal with the Saints on Wednesday.

NFL Network reporter Jane Slater says Bryant was injured when he was coming out of a routine route near the end of practice when the injury occurred.

Bryant is undergoing an MRI to confirm the injury. He'll undergo a second opinion on the injury after the MRI, Rapoport added.

Cowboys COO Stephen Jones was asked about Bryant's injury on 105.3 The Fan Friday and expressed his disappointment for him.

"(I) Hate for something like that to happen to any player, especially Dez. I was really fired up for him. I thought it was a great fit for him. I'm disappointed for Dez. (I) Hate that for Sean (Payton) and Mickey (Loomis) as well."

It's a crushing blow for the 30-year-old after he's sat out the entire season while waiting for the right team to sign with. The Cowboys cut their all-time touchdown reception leader in April.

Bryant was slated to play against his former team on Nov. 29 at AT&T Stadium.

This is a developing news story.
