Dallas Mavs Team Up With Blockchain Fitness App The Lympo

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks announced on Twitter yesterday that they were partnering with LympoApp, a healthy lifestyle app that rewards users with a specialty cryptocurrency for achievements in healthy living.

"A new exciting partnership with a goal to make the world a healthier place," The Mavs' video said. Also announcing that the app will launch in the thrid quarter of this year. 

According to the Lympo website, users will "participate and track your personal or group fitness challenges, find and contact personal trainers, spend your reward LYM crypto tokens in the healthy lifestyle marketplace, challenge your friends. Lympo is all about connecting people passionate about sports and healthy lifestyle."

Lympo was founded in 2016 as a platform to encourage healthy lifestyles.

“The Mavericks found clear alignment with Lympo’s mission to create a healthier world by utilizing the latest technology to encourage fitness and healthy living in a whole new way,” said Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks. “Through the platform, fans will be able to earn free tickets and merchandise by completing Mavericks fitness challenges on the Lympo app. We are eager to launch this fall.”

The Mavericks also announced that the three-year deal will include a Lympo patch on Mavs practice jersey as well as renaming practice facilities. Mavericks and Lympo will unveil the rebranded Lympo Training Facility and the Lympo Training Court later this year.

The Mavericks will also work with Lympo in the future to integrate Lympo’s blockchain technology and cryptocurrency with the Mavericks ongoing blockchain initiatives. The Mavs will be one of the first teams in the NBA to accept various forms of cryptocurrency for tickets and merchandise beginning in the 2018-19 season.
