Smith Jr. underwent x-rays on his ankle but they came back negative, according to Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News.

The rookie was seen in a walking boot when the team left New York but was taking shots at practice in New Orleans on Monday.

Smith Jr. spent time with the media after getting some shots up and said he was feelilng better after rolling his ankle.

"I'm feeling better. I think we're doing a good job of staying on top of everything. It won't be long," DSJ said. "I'm going to finish the season out. Whenever they think I'm ready to come back, I'll be back."
