Jones Avoided Media Over Gregory Questions, Not Loss To Carolina

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is hardly shy about speaking to the media, he is in fact one of the few NFL owners that regularly does. But after the game in Carolina, he was gone in a flash.

When speaking with The Fan's Shan & RJ show, Jones admitted he had no desire to speak after the Cowboys loss to the Panthers this past Sunday, because he wanted to avoid any questions about Randy Gregory.

"I really didn't want to get into conversations about (Randy) Gregory" said Jones.

Prior to the game, a report came out that Gregory had suffered a 'substance abuse relapse' which could put his return to the NFL in jeopardy.

“He’s tested randomly as much as 10x in 2 weeks" said Jones. "Those types of things can always concern you, but as far as his availability for this weekend, I think he’ll be ok.”

When asked about the validity of the report, Jones said “I wouldn't’t make much of it. I don’t think these reports have any substance at all if you really want the truth to it. I’ve seen too many times the media make these assertions and it be nothing but pulling it out of the air.”
