J.J. Barea Tears Achilles, Season Over

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - The Dallas Mavericks veteran point guard suffered an Achilles tear in his right foot during the Mavericks game Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves., ending his season.

The team annouced after the game Friday that Barea suffered a "right lower leg injury," but an MRI Saturday confirmed it was a torn Achilles.

Barea, who was a key player in the 2011 NBA Championship winning season, is potentially done for the rest of the season.

Barea had 16 points and 7 assists during the game before he was carried to the locker room Friday night.
