DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - As the Dallas Cowboys get closer and closer to the opening of the regular season, team owner Jerry Jones says there has been no movement in the contract negotiations with star RB Ezekiel Elliott.

But even with Jones telling The Fan's Shan & RJ show "I don't have anything to report there. No we don't have anything to report on our contract negotiations," he also says the Cowboys are prepared to move forward without Elliott.

"We may very well play without a player that's not coming in on his contract" said Jones when discussing the Elliott contract deal.

Being pressed about the stalemate with Elliott, Jones was asked if Elliott's off-the-field 'issues' in the past have effected the negotiations. "I'm very comfortable off the field with Zeke. He certainly has had two or three issues, that's not a factor here" said Jones.

"We've got a marathon here. We want Zeke when we get to the playoffs" said Jones. "We want Zeke when we're in the dog days of the season."
