October 02, 2018 - 8:55 am

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones usually keeps his picks for his Cowboys Ring Of Honor pretty close to the vest, but this one got out early.

Talking with The Fan's Shan & RJ on his weekly show, Jones confirmed what had already been mentioned on a television show about Romo's life in pro football.

"Yes," said Jones. "He will be in the Ring of Honor...details will follow."

While lamenting how he was never able to put a team together to get Romo to play in a Super Bowl, Jones spoke highly of his former quarterback.

"Tony was magnificent for this franchise during his career. That's what the Ring of Honor is about," said Jones. "While there wasn't a Super Bowl, I think he was one of the best at his position."

"It wasn't going to be anywhere else," said Jones, adding "He was unique then, he’s unique now."
