Harrison Barnes Tweaks Hamstring; May Be Shut Down During China Trip

September 27, 2018 - 12:33 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher is reporting that Harrison Barnes has tweaked a hamstring, and will miss some playing time.

The Mavericks and coach Rick Carlise haven't provided any timetable at this point, but this injury likely means Barnes will miss the entire preseason and could question his ability for the team's regular-season opener against the Phoenix Suns, October 17th.

This comes as a blow to a team looking to work in new players, like Luka Doncic and DeAndre Jordan, into the rotation.

The team is planning on re-evaluating Barnes in 7-10 days.

Mavericks preseason starts Saturday against the Beijing Ducks in Dallas. The team then heads to China to take on the 76ers in two exhibition games.
