DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - So far DeAndre Jordan has been everything the Dallas Mavericks hoped he would be when they signed him to a one-year $24 million deal this past summer.

"He's just been sensational," coach Rick Carlisle said about Jordan. "He's giving us a major presence on the inside. You add the personality and attitude that he brings to the game. On a night like tonight, you don't get over the top without it."

Jordan has been so good he has become the first Mavs player in 24-years to start the season with 3 straight double-doubles.

The last player to accomplish the feat for the Mavericks was Popeye Jones during the 1994-1995 season. This is the first time in Jordan's career he has started with three straight double-doubles. Before this season, last year was his hottest start getting two straight to start the year.

The Mavericks' record for a double-double streak was set by James Donaldson at 10 games during the 1989-1988 season. James Harden owns the NBA double-double streak record with 19 games set during the 2016-2017 season.

Roy Tarpley holds the Mavericks record for most double-doubles in a season with 43. Dirk Nowitzki is next on the list with two 41 double-double seasons. Jordan has eclipsed the Mavericks record three times in his NBA Career. He had 49 double-doubles in the 2015-2016 season, 47 double-doubles in the 2014-2015 season, and 46 double-doubles last season.
