FRISCO (105.3 THE FAN) - The "America's Team'' moniker continues to rankle critics of the Dallas Cowboys who simply don't understand that a nickname is a nickname.

Another club can't be "America's Team'' any more than a team outside of the Montreal Canadiens can be "Les Habs'' or a team outside o the New York Yankees can be "The Bronx Bombers."

But while a great way to settle any argument would be for Dallas to win another Super Bowl or five, the next best proof is ... viewership.

And in the 2018 NFL preseason, the Cowboys will get viewership.

Dallas plays four preseason games this summer: Week 1 the team is at San Francisco. That game will be nationally-televised on NFL Network. In Week 2 the Cowboys are at AT&T Stadium playing host to the Bengals. That game will also be on NFL Network. And the Week 3 game at home against Arizona will be nationally-televised on NBC.

The Week 4 game at Houston will be telecasted locally ... and of course, as always, I along with the 105.3 The Fan crew will be on-site for all four of the games, as well as every practice session in Oxnard ... where fans of "America's Team'' get wall-to-wall coverage.
