DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Mavericks owner Mark Cuban opened up about his thoughts on the team's lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

In an exclusive interview with Dalton Trigg of DallasBasketball.com, Cuban says they are open to anything, including a trade.

"We will get the best player available (with the guaranteed top-6 pick),'' Mavs owner Mark Cuban tells DallasBasketball.com in an exclusive interview, "whether it's via draft or even trade.''

The 'trade' suggestion raises some eyebrows, leading many, including me, to immediately consider the viability of acquiring a certain star that is not seeing eye to eye with his current franchise.  If you've been living under a rock, I'm talking about Spurs' star Kawhi Leonard.

"It's a long shot that we would trade the pick,'' Cuban added. "But we will be open to anything.''

While it may be a long shot, Mavericks' fans can certainly get excited about the fact that they will not be picking lower than sixth in the draft. Meanwhile, they can continue to dream about winning May 15's lottery and drafting another young star to pair with Dennis Smith Jr. or using the pick to acquire an unhappy superstar 273 miles away.

Cuban also had some thoughts about Smith's progress throughout the season. Read them here
